She will be taking care of my daughter whilst I hold my first retreat with @yogicbynature @adzentureretreats and @michelle_yogogirls our photographer in Utah end of this month. I leave this Thursday. I thought I would share a little real life with you all. It has taken me 9 years of training and educating myself to hold my first yoga retreat. I’m excited and nervous. I hope I’ll be able to do more in the future. To make this retreat happen, it has been truly challenging with the world as it is these last few years and additionally my own journey. Personally I’ve been educating myself for 9 years, paying for courses and teachers to educate me to be a better teacher for my students. As well as I work and raise a family too. To be able to travel to this retreat I’ve had to pay for Laine’s Omas plane ticket and her food to come and care for her. I’ve had to pay for my expenses that go with the retreat and travel too. In the end financially it will not be a financial win but a burden. However, I’ve made a dream come true to teach and a wonderful experience. So many believe that those of us that are traveling, teaching and posting here that it’s financially easy or a life of luxury. To be honest it’s not. For me and many I believe it’s a life of a million sacrifices to make it happen, courage to believe and a lot of challenges. Yesterday I went to a blind massage therapist here in bangkok and the sign on the wall said….”We do not see things the way they are. We see things the way we are.” “The eyes are useless when the mind is blind.” I feel social media often needs this reminder (we all do). So today when you see someone you admire or something you want judge on social media remember not everyone and everything is as you see it. To those here working on your dreams I commend you for your courage, hard work and dedication I know it’s so much more than anyone sees.
