https://youtu.be/bZ2igHzmmV0 New tutorial on YouTube. Did you know it took me 9 years to achieve these skills? Did you know I started my yoga practice at 30? After my daughter was born I had postnatal depression and attempted on my life. So I was looking for a way to rebuild myself to be here as a mum. Did you know I cannot just take a photo and have this strength or skills. It took 9 years of showing up for me on my mat behind social media when nobody was watching, liking, seeing it or cheering me on, just me against myself. For all those that say that showing our practice or self here is attention seeking. I ask you one question? Are you not stereotyping and judging a little too simply? Have you learned or been inspired to start from a tutorial/post online before. If that person did not share their practice you would never have learned or been inspired to start. I would never be able to show this skill work had I not done 9 years of practice. Stood up at 5am whilst raising a daughter and working. We are in a world of attention and visuality, yes. But we are also in a world of humans that are doing the work behind the scenes that we are judging too soon. To the human showing their body here on social media it's okay. To the human here on social media not showing their body or face it is okay. To the person watching others posts and not posting it's okay. To the person posting and pretending to be perfect it's okay To the person posting who is healing it's okay To the person posting and unsure and doesn't know themselves it's okay To the person posting and who knows themselves it's okay To the person posting quotes or something other than themselves it's okay To the person showing their flaws it's okay To the person not showing their flaws it's okay To the person sharing their life, their dark secrets, their family it's okay To the person not sharing deeply it's okay. To the person posting here however you post for whatever reason you post it's okay. To the person judging those that post because they think their labels tell them who we are, it's not okay. My advice to you is find the people you love on social media and follow them. To the ones you do not resonate with on social media unfollow them. No amount of calling out another and dimming another lights by your judgement will even make you shine brighter or make the world a better place. I hope one day we can all look at our focus and see our focus is the issue, not the people, places and things. What is your focus here on social media?
