I had a crutch who aided me in these troubled times, They passed away a few years back, Now I'm alone In my grief, Therapy helped separate my pain, my anger and my sorrow into 3 individual feelings, I was mixed up in surviving and loss. So I pour the whiskey, I open then wine, Cracking open a can of beer, These 3 things we shared amongst others, But these were what brought us joy, Food, water and company. Darling yours is my favourite still. I feel you when I'm at my lowest, I hear you when I'm standing tall. I've lost others before and after, But your loss left a whole nothing could fill. As I remember kneeling. Feeling myself give into the otherside of the veil. That's when you brought me back. That moment of sheer love washing over me, I may not have been able to save you, But you have saved me then and every time I get that low again. Your love taught me many things, We shall always have that night together. The night I nearly gave my all to one person. Your ring protects another who needs it, So I take a drink, "Skal" I honour you with yours. And I say thanks, I love you, I miss you and may you be the life of the party wherever you are bae.
